Academy of Cheese Level 1

Studying cheese with a training partner can really boost your progress. You’ll swap ideas, check how you describe flavours, and build your tasting skills. The guided tasting session let you compare notes on texture and aroma in real time with your trainer and other participants. You can ask questions and get a real insight into the world of cheese. This teamwork helps fill the gaps you might miss on your own. Exploring cheese together makes the learning process more social, memorable, and effective.

During the course we will cover together the 9 modules of the Associate level:

  • Milk Production and Cheesemaking

  • Maturing, Affinage and Grading

  • Buying and Distribution

  • Presenting and serving

  • Communicating about cheese

  • Cheese Industry Knowledge

  • Regulation and Good Practice

  • Tasting​

We will also taste together 12 of the cheeses that are studied during this level. We will discuss the online exam, and  how to approach it.

Additionally, hands-on activities and guided tastings significantly enrich the overall learning experience.

  • The Academy of Cheese Level 1 courses are scheduled to take place on a pre-arranged date. These courses will be available online or in-person. Future participants will be informed about the format of the course.

  • To be able to enrol you will need to love cheese and want to know about it.

    For the tasting session you will have to order your cheeses.
